Curacao is a Caribbean island known for its incredible coral reefs, diversity, and European flavor. Fifty-five different nationalities live in the country and most people speak English, Spanish, and Dutch as well as the local Papiamento. Because of its history as a Dutch colony, the architecture, government, educational, and legal systems in Curacao all resemble what is found in the Netherlands. To get the full experience of this wonderful country, tourists should be informed about their options in accommodations including Curacao hotels, resorts, and villas. Curacao guides can help to enrich a visitor's experience of the island by exposing them to all possible activities and places on the island.

There are many types of Curacao hotels to choose from. Some Curacao hotels are located on large resorts that offer many types of attractions and activities. Resort information suggests that the more expensive Curacao hotels are, the more activities tend to be located on site. Smaller Curacao hotels, with fewer structured activities, tend to be cheaper. An example is Landhuis Daniel, which offers only 8 double occupancy rooms for $35-$60 a day. Pets are allowed at this hotel (they are not allowed at the larger Curacao hotels and resorts), which is testament to the relaxed atmosphere. There is a swimming pool on site and the 4 rooms located in the Plantation House overlook the sea. The attached gourmet restaurant attracts locals as well as tourists, and the 4 acres of land surrounding the hotel boasts a garden that grows the restaurant's produce.

Two popular Curacao hotels are the Marriott and Hilton resorts. The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino is located on beach front property in Piscadera Bay. As the name suggests, there is a casino on site in addition to the luxurious rooms, large exhibition space, and exotic surroundings. Rooms usually range from $112-$509 a day and offer a mini-bar, in-room safe, personal climate controls, and cribs. Amenities included in the cost of the stay are an outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, and health club as well as beach chairs and towels for water lovers. The Marriott is one of the few Curacao hotels that offers snorkeling, water skiing, water sports, and lighted tennis courts. A gift shop, laundry valet, children's program, full business center, gallery, tour desk, and car rental are all on-site.

Also considered to be one of the best Curacao hotels is the Hilton Curacao. The Hilton is a resort also located at Piscadera Bay. This Curacao hotel is set on 23 acres of cultivated land and offers everything needed for an incredible vacation: scuba diving, fitness and spa centers, a casino, tennis, two private beaches, and much more. Rooms usually cost $275-$360 a day and have an electronic safe, coffee machine, and balcony, along with the usual hotel provisions. Amenities included in the cost of the stay are diving school, the Children Learning Center, and mini-golf. A full-sized golf course is available nearby for an additional fee.

Another option for tourists is renting Curacao villas for their stay. Generally more expensive than the Curacao hotels, Curacao villas offer more privacy than Curacao hotels and luxurious personalized surroundings. Ranging in number of bedrooms with services like personal yoga instructors and pre-stocked food that are not available at Curacao hotels, anyone would appreciate a vacation in a villa. Usually located away from the capitol of Willemstad, villas offer a more secluded and relaxed place to stay than Curacao hotels, which tend to be very busy.

A Curacao guide is recommended for visitors to the island. Thousands of different Curacao guides are available on everything from Curacao hotels, resorts, and villas to recreation and restaurants. A thorough guide will include events, festivals, and nightlife as well as natural attractions. The coral reefs surrounding Curacao are so popular that guides are available solely for diving sites in the area. The "Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao: Alive!" and "Adventure Guide Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao" are two of the popular written guide choices for travelers to Curacao.

Travelers to Curacao have many accommodation choices on the island, including Curacao hotels, resorts, and villas. The Marriott and Hilton are both popular Curacao hotels with surrounding resort activities available. After settling into their rooms, a guide to Curacao will help tourists choose their activities and make sure they experience all that this incredible island has to offer.
